Biosketch

Originally aspired to become an opera singer and went nowhere, Leo Lam stumbled upon Electrical Engineering at the prestigious Imperial College after realizing that he could fix his parents’ audio system by giving it a kick. After getting his standard set of degrees and got a nice little stint in the industry in multiple capacities, he retreated back into the safe haven of academia in an attempt to pursue intellectual higher grounds. Back at UW, he found himself indulging in continuous intellectual challenges both at Electrical Engineering and the Business School. He tirelessly attempts to write inconsequential papers and running experiments on “cool” tiny little devices that serve no serious purposes. He also fell in love with teaching, in which he dedicates a lot of his time telling his students to finish labs early and instruct them to go do something fun. He also intiated the Chuck Norris Candy Bar Challenge for his classes’ exams. Two students of his won the Undergraduate Research Award, one of this TAs won a Teaching Assistant Award and another one is now teaching Comparative Literature at the University that cannot be named.

He is a multiple award-winning, internationally published fashion photographer, has started a few companies and still running two right now. He mentors many high school and college students in photography, career and business. There isn’t much on Earth that he is not interested in. He is very much into solving problems through innovation and creative solutions, and has started four businesses and onto his fifth. He is on the Board of the Tech. Advisory Committee at the Creative Academy of Seattle Central Community College and frequently volunteer as a Judge and Coach at the Foster Business School. He volunteers with Soulumination and is a patron donor for the Seattle Opera, Seattle Symphony and the Seattle Art Museum.

He currently lives with his cat “Spotty Dotty“. He also mysteriously appears in your Facebook class profiles.
